UCI Cyclocross World Cup Dublin

Well what an experience that was yesterday to race the u14 support race at the UCI cyclocross world cup in Dublin on the same course as the world’s best.

It was going to be tough as there was extremely cold temperatures. All morning before the race the course was covered in frost ans snow but just before and race people started riding the course and it turned to mud which cause for a hard race. The 1st half of the lap was quite flat and suited someone with a lot of power but the 2nd half was very technical and there was also running sections.

I got off to a good start and was with the leader on his wheel after the 1st corner. He started to get a little gap on thr 1st lap but after 1 lap I closed back up to his wheel. He made a pit change and I attacked and got a gap. After around a lap by myself he caught me. Then my front wheel washed out and I fell off but I got up quickly but he had gotten a gap on me and I couldn’t close it. On the last lap he also increased the gap and I had to settle for 2nd.

I am happy enough with this as I was sick during the week. Next up is the Ulster Champs next Sunday
