Ulster Road Championships

Today was the Ulster Road Race and Time Trail Championships in Ballinderry, Lisburn. Hosted by Phoenix CC, I really enjoyed the day of racing so a huge thanks to Phoenix for making sure everything was prefect.

First off was the TT and I was looking forward to this TT as it was a really tough course with a few drags and it was slightly longer which made it even more challenging. I managed to complete the 3.4 mile course in 4 minutes and 16 seconds which was enough to win the U13 TT by 33 seconds. I felt like a rode a good TT so I’m happy with my performance. I’m happy to win this for the 2nd year in a row after winning the U12 TT last year.

Next up was the road race. I came into this with confidence that I could do the double and win the U13 road race as well as TT. We got off to a fast start and I was in the front group. Multiple attacks happened and I followed but none stayed away until 2 riders broke clear and I was in the group behind racing for 3rd, I managed to finish 6th overall in the sprint and win the U13 Ulster Road Race title.

This gives me confidence coming into the National Championships in 2 weeks were I will look to go 1 better than my silver medal last year. I would like to say a huge thanks to all my sponsors for their continued support.
