Super good day at the Noel Teggart Memorial, arguably one of the biggest races in Ireland. It was a really hard course with lots of climbing so i knew that this type of course would suit me.
My plan was to be agressive today and it worked well. Just as the neutral flag dropped i got away with 2 others and that was the main break of the day. Three of us were away up the road with a good gap of around 45 seconds to a minute. We stayed away for around 5 miles but then we were joined by 2 other riders who were really strong. They then attacked and got away, they were within touching distance but we just couldn’t make it across. They then increased their gap to around 30 seconds by the time we got to the finish. My group was sprinting for 3rd and i came 5th.
Super happy with how today went getting up the road and then finishing with a strong result. A huge thanks to Banbridge Cycling Club for running this amazing race and creating the class circuit, definitely my favourite race of the season so far. Also as always thanks to my sponsors for their continued support, racing wouldn’t be possible with out them.
