Today was my first MTB race of the season in Ormeau Park, Belfast. I didn’t really know what to expect today because I had covid only 3 weeks ago. I got off to a decent start within the top 3 fighting for position i was on the wheel of 3rd position. Once we had completed 2 laps about to go onto the third my chain came off so i had to stop and fix it. I lost around 30 seconds trying to get it back on. So now i had a big chase on, i rode well for 2 laps and then I was insight of 3rd on the last lap. On the last lap i was also sick which didn’t help. I had caught 3rd on the last corner but couldn’t get passed him and had to settle for 4th.

I am a bit disappointed with this but the legs felt good so hopefully i have some better luck next week on the road representing Ulster at a stage race in county Mayo.
