Round 3 of the NPS was a local race for me, it was nice to have a sleep in with the race only being 30mins away from my house. A super hilly course tested the legs and the rocky descents kept you on your toes at all times.
As we started it was straight up hill, I sprinted off the start but a fellow rider chopped across the grid and took me off. I quickly got back up and got going again. I caught the front of the race pretty quickly. I was sitting 2nd for the first 2 laps but then the rider who was leading crashed. This allowed me to get in-front of him and take the lead. I managed to hold off the completion behind and take the win by 2mins to the next rider. The course kept me pushing for the whole race and it was a really demanding race, one of the hardest of the year!
I am happy with this ride but I wish all the best to Curtis who crashed, I hope he has a speedy recovery and is back racing very soon
