Today we were in Lucan, North of Dublin for the second race of the season. After a disappointing start last week with a few little issues I was very motivated and ready to go this week.
It was a wet windy day which made the race even harder. I was well placed in the bunch and the first lap was filled with attacks, a few attacks got away but the bunch had them caught fast. On the 2nd out of 3 laps 2 riders slipped off the front one being my teammate. They grew there advantage and held off the bunch to take 1-2. Behind the bunch was fast and ready for a sprint. With about 1km to go as the sprint was starting I went to move up and I camped hard in my leg, this caused for me to fall out of the bunch
Once the cramp had gone away I rolled over the finish line, this was disappointing but these little issues will be sorted and I will be back stronger.
