WHAT A DAY! 3rd place in Wortegem-Petegem kermesse. A brilliant course with a steep climb which suited me very well. I got in the break that went in the first 5 minutes of the race, me and 3 other riders got away and we were all riding well together. The break soon fell to 3 as we lost one rider. We were all committed and we all kept rolling through until there was an attack and that was the winner gone. He was super strong and once he attacked i couldn’t hold his wheel. The other rider form the break was able to sit with him for a lap so i was riding by myself in 3rd. I worked really hard for the next few laps and after making a big effort i was able to make it back to the rider in 2nd. We both worked well together right until the finish. We had a sprint for 2nd but i had to settle for 3rd.

This was the best possible way to end our amazing week in Belgium. I have gained massive experience and to come home with a result in just a massive bonus. A massive Thanks to Cycling Ulster for this trip and i cant wait to be back.
