Today was the Ulster road championships held outside Banbridge on the tough roads of annaclone.
First up was the morning TT, it was a rolly TT which was about 5 miles long. I had a good ride holding my power and speed right to the line and finished 2nd overall.
Next up was the road race. The heavens started to open as we approached the road race which led to more aggressive racing. After the first few minutes of the race I was away in a breakaway of 3, by the end of the first lap there was an attack and this spilt us all up. I was in 2nd chasing and spent the remainder of the race chasing down the win. I was solo for around 1hr as the attack was very early so it was a long tough day alone but I’m happy to take 2nd.
Nice way to end the road season and now I will have a short break before I start training and racing for the cross season.
