The Ras Na nOg is complete for another year and It was a great weekend of racing. A massive thanks to drogheda wheelers for hosting the race.

Stage 1- this was a 7 lap crit on a tight and windy circuit. Me and the rest of the Ulster team spent most of the time at the front controlling the race and we made a few attacks but none of them stuck and it was a bunch sprint. I came 2nd in the sprint after a real close finish.

Stage 2- This stage had 3 hard steep climbs throught the circuit. I had a plan to attack on this stage and it worked pretty well. Ulster team kept me protected from the wind for the first half of the race. One rider rode off but the bunch let him go so once he got a gap from Yh bunch I went all in on the climb and bridged across with one other rider. After not that long I had dropped the other riders and was solo. I spent around 15 mins off the front and just over half the race. I won with 20” on the chaser group and 1min on the bunch

Stage 3- After yesterdays hard solo attack I had got he yellow jersey for today so it was all in from me and and the team to defend the jersey. The stage was flat and fast or the first while but it slowed down and people didn’t want to ride on the front. 2 dangerous attacks went and I followed the both of them but after us getting a slight gap the bunch caught us. It ended in a bunch sprint and I got 5th on the line and I won the GC.

I’m super happy to finally get my first major road win. I really enjoyed the circuits and how professionally the race was organised. A massive thanks to VC Glendale Academy for all their support and advice over the weekend and to all the Ulster lads for riding for me.
