Today was a the final round of the National cyclocross series and it was a local one for me at the Cyclocross NI Track in Portadown. I done a recon of the course on Tuesday so I knew what to expect for the race. It was a big race for me as I had to win to get a die in the overall for the series so I was nervous by I knew that I was in great form after a hard block of training over Christmas.
I got a phenomenal start and had a gap back by the 1st corner. I kept the pace high and had 15’ seconds by the end of the lap 1. I was riding really well and cornering very fast I kept riding strong and growing the gap over the next to laps and took a big convincing win by 59’ seconds.
This is super promising for me as nationals championships is next week. I like the course at McCrystals so I’m excited to roll the dice and see what I can do.
