Irish National CX Series RD 3

After a tough week of training starting to prep for the National championships I was excited to get out and race today at this venue as the National Championships will be held here at McCrystals CX Track in Dundalk

I was joined for the lead in the overall for the National series and I knew I would have to have a good race today as this is my big rivals home course. The race started and the 2 of us were away by the 1st corner. We had a great battle exchanging the lead for the whole duration of the race. The last lap tactics started to come into place and the pace was slowed down we were both still together as we hit the final section. A hairpin sand pit with a sharp steep hill after it. I didn’t lead into the sandpit but rode it smooth and was on the wheel but I made a mistake on the hill after we’re I decide to ride the hill and he ran it where he got a gap of a few meters with 1 corner and the finish straight to go. I gave it everything the whole way to the finish but didn’t have enough in the end and had to settle for 2nd
