Today was the 2nd round of the National Cyclocross series in Upperchurch Drombane, County Tippeary.

I got off to a descent start sitting in 2nd for the 1st lap and was on the wheel of 1st. On the 2nd lap he was starting to seem stronger and was creating little gaps but I was still closing them up and was just behind him. After lap 3 he had gapped me and he was growing the gap. I continued to ride strong to the finishbut he was the stronger rider on the day and he took the win. We’re are both joined for the series lead now so we will look forward to next round.

This course didn’t quite suit me as it was very flat and more of a power type course which also played a factor in the result of the race. It was good fun to get a very muddy race though.
