Ras Mhaigh-EO

Delighted to have completed the Ras Mhaigh-eo. Thanks for all of Cycling Ulster Youth academy for all of the help over the weekend.

First off was stage 1 on Saturday which was the road race. It was a really fast start race with attacks going every few minutes but I missed the break that stuck. Then I spent the rest of the race chasing with a small group of riders. I got first in the u13 category and got to wear the blue jersey.

Next off was TT which was stage 2 i got to wear the leaders jersey for stage 2. I won the TT after a strong ride and rode very well.

Next up was the last stage which was stage 3. It was a short technical crit which had a gravel sector in it. I rode a decent race getting into the 3rd group from the solo leader and also came first u13 to secure the u13 blue jersey. I feel that my legs weren’t the best but I’m happy to get some race miles in the legs and hopefully I’ll be better next time.

I gained huge experience from completing my first stage race and also getting to ride for the Ulster setup. The Ulster team had great results getting a jersey in nearly every category.
