Today was the last round of the Big Red Cloud League and the Leinster CX League the permanent cyclocross facility in Co. Louth Mccrystals cyclocross track. I had a decent race but a bit of bad luck ruined my chances. I got off to a good start getting into the top 3. I kept my position and was riding in a group when I got a piece of course tape stuck in my cassette and it took around a minute to get it out. Then 4th place was just off my wheel and by the time I got back on the bike they had caught be. After that I didn’t have the legs to get on the wheel and also had a silly crash on a gressy corner on the next lap. So I ended up in 4th place which isn’t bad but I had hoped for a podium but I can’t complain.

I felt that I rode ok but unfortunately bad luck accoured and there is nothing you can do. Had a great time at the venue and with the other riders. Hopefully I can have some better luck next week at National Champs.
